Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) Conversion Course

Open Water Lifeguard qualification for current OWL or NPLQ holders.

Wetsuit required, & suitable footwear to wear in the water (wetsuit shoes or old trainers). Warm clothing for after the swimming is essential.
Please be aware that much of the training shall take place outdoors, so please dress for the elements.
CPR & First Aid training will involve laying on the ground and kneeling. This may be on the grass, so please dress accordingly.
Please bring sufficient food & drink for the day. There is a cafe near the site, but no other close facilities.
Candidate manual provided.

PREREQUISITES

  • A current RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), Must be 16 years of age at the date of assessment, Be able to meet the following criteria: Confident in open water, Able to swim at least 400 metres in a pool/ open water swimming continuously on their front and showing urgency, Able to submerge under the water confidently

WHAT TO BRING

Wetsuit/Swimwear. Warm Clothing, Pen & Paper
Packed lunch and refreshments for the day.
Towel - Bag for wet kit
